Before Preliminary exercise:

During class, it was very important to learn semiotics before we started our preliminary exercise.  I learnt key definitions and there meaning, for example:

Connotation – meanings of signs, and what they tell us by looking at the image. E.g. images of children with no food, that are extremely skinny, tells us the children in the image are poor.
We analyzed images by learning new key terms and giving examples. I think this was very useful because it expanded our knowledge and understanding. Also, it makes us see and think why things are put in a certain way and the importance of what it represents. I think analyzing and learning the basics will be very beneficial when making my front cover, contents and  double page.
